Dr. Saylors began his tenure as Pastor July 16, 2006. He and his wife Danita were married April 25, 1981. Danita is a former Christian school librarian and is currently employed by Guidestone Financial Services. The Saylors’ have one daughter, Chelsea, who is a junior University Scholars major at Baylor University. In addition to his ministry at Lakeside, Dr. Saylors has served on the staff of East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas as the Executive Director of Smith Baptist Association in Tyler, as a member of the Executive Board staff for the Baptist General Convention of Texas, as well as Pastor of Southern Oaks Baptist Church in Tyler. Dr. Saylors holds degrees from Gulf Coast Community College in Florida, East Texas Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.
