Melvin is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served as Minister of Education and Administration for over 47 years, and moved to Dallas when he retired in November 2002. He is currently on staff as part-time Minister of Administration, and serves as Adult Bible Study Leader for the Adult 6 coed department. He was married to Jane Ellis for 45 1/2 years until her death in January 2006. He has two children and one grandchild. His responsibilities include the financial and business operations of the church.
