music Music Ministry


 

The Adult Choir:
-Leads the congregation of LBC in praise, worship, and proclamation weekly in corporate worship.
-Presents seasonal and non-seasonal programs which strengthen the fellowship and reach out to our community.
-Provides opportunity to reach and train adult music and worship leaders.
-Provides opportunity for singers to present musical offerings in worship to the Lord.
-Provides fellowship with other believers who share like goals and visions for ministry both to the Lord and the congregation.
-Rehearses Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. in the music suite on the first floor across from the church Library.

Praise Teams:
-Contribute to the worship times at Lakeside by leading the congregation in worship and praise.
-Team members who possess strong vocal and thythmic skill, and a strong commitment and desire for worship are selected from the Adult Choir.
-Rehearse as needed.

Vocal Ensembles:
-Ensembles are made up of faithful, committed Adult Choir members who excel vocally and enjoy singing in an ensemble setting. 
-Individuals are selected by the Minister of Music.
-Regular ensembles include Higher Call contemporary ladies ensemble, Master’s Call contemporary mixed ensemble, and Heart Song ladies ensemble.
-Rehearse weekly or bi-weekly.

Kids’ Choirs:
-Teaches boys and girls to praise and worship God with their singing voices.
-Provides opportunities for children ages 4 – 6th grade to grow musically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally through fun times of learning.
-Boys and girls discover their voices, learn to sing skillfully, and discover rhythms and motion.
-Treble Maker Choir for children age 4 by September 1 of current choir year; Music Maker Choir for grades 1-3 and at least age 6 by September 1 of current choir year; and Young Musician Choir for grades 4-6 and at least age 9 by September 1 of current choir year.
-Sings occasionally in worship and presents programs in December and in May.
-Rehearses weekly during the school year on Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m. in the Children’s Building second floor.

Super Summer Singers:
-Summer music and drama activity for children who have completed first grade and are age 6 by September 1 of the current year through children who have not yet entered 7th grade.
-Meets one week during the summer from 9 a.m. – 12 noon and presents a children’s musical the following Sunday evening at 6:15 p.m.

Student Choir:

-For students, grade 7 – 12
-Provides opportunity for students to continue in musical and spiritual growth with peers.
-Sings in worship as music is learned.
-Rehearses Sundays, 5:00 p.m. during the school year

Church Orchestra:
-Plays and accompanies in worship once a month during the school year.
-Provides opportunity for instrumentalists to lead in worship and present musical offerings in worship.
-Provides opportunity to reach and train instrumental worship leaders.
-Rehearses Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m. in the music suite on the first floor across from the church Media Center.

Adult Handbells:
-Provides opportunity for Adult musicians to learn the skillful art of ringing.
-For music readers, experienced or inexperienced in ringing handbells.
-Rehearses Sundays, 5:00 p.m.
