The Lakeside Baptist Church library team’s ministry statement:
The overall purpose of this team is to provide resources to educate believers toward mature discipleship, to equip them for teaching and ministering to others, and to enrich the quality of their lives.
The library ministry of Lakeside is led by Gayle Copeland, who has been librarian since April of 1984. Working in tandem with her is her volunteer staff and team, led by Barbara Smith.
The library was completely renovated in 2001. It is very user-friendly and has a expansive collection of materials. Presently, we have well over 10,000 books, 1200 videos, 300 DVDs, CDs., Bible studies, at least three previous years of sermon audio-tapes, several months of worship service videos, periodicals, maps, audio-visual equipment, and other teaching aids. All copies of musicals, special events, etc. are kept indefinitely.
Checks-out for books & other items is 3 weeks and 1week for DVDs and videos. Unless on reserve for another patron, all check-outs are renewable.
“Specials” are allowed on check-outs for longer periods for teachers and for other extended needs.
All library materials are funded through the budget, memorials, honorariums, and donation gifts.
Every item is always due on Sunday.
